Shrimp, Snail and Crab Care Guides
Invertebrates are sensitive to copper, which is common in fish medications and some plant products, so check labels before dosing. Neocaridina shrimp are forgiving, while crystal, bee and tiger caridina shrimp need more stable, softer water. Crabs and crayfish are escape artists and will eat shrimp and small fish.
Quick rules of thumb
- Avoid copper-based medications.
- Drip-acclimate shrimp slowly.
- Do not keep crayfish with shrimp or small fish.
