Banded Archerfish (Toxotes jaculatrix) is an advanced-level freshwater fish that needs at least 100 gallons and 75-82°F. A surface-hunting fish famous for spitting jets of water at insects. Juveniles are sold in fresh water, but adults need brackish water to stay healthy, and they need a long tank with open space at the surface and a lid with a small gap.

Before you buy
Make sure your tank is cycled (how to cycle a tank), check your numbers with the water testing guide, and use the compatibility guide to check tankmates. These are general ranges; individual fish and local water vary.
